Probably the most big and exclusive boxing event of the year is going to happen on November 12th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The current World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Emmanuel Dapidran [Manny] Pacquiao aka “Pacman” is the eight belt wonder, he is the mexicutioner, he has not faced top opposition lately because he has rather engaged against the most profitable opponents and it is a shame because he might have been able to defeat better fighters than the ones his promoters choose for him.

The current World Boxing Association (WBA) Super World and World Boxing Organization (WBO) lightweight champion Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez is currently the best Mexican fighter, a three division champion, disciplined inside and outside the ring, and he is a smart boxer who was able to compete and hurt Pacman a couple of times in two epic fights.
The musical face-off between the two boxers took place at La Academia. Pacquiao sang ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon, while Marquez performed ‘El Rey’ by José Alfredo Jiménez. Aftewards, they both sang together, ‘Cielito Lindo’, a classic Ranchera from Mexico, and Pacquiao even ventured to sing a portion of ‘La Bamba’.
The atmosphere was cordial enough that they even found time to dance.
Pacquiao, known as ‘Pacman’ and the ‘Devorador de Mexicanos’ [The Devourer of Mexicans], was received very well by the Mexican audience, evidenced by the thousands of fans cheering for him.
After one tie, and one victory for Pacquiao, the duo are preparing for their third fight.
Marquez likes to fight, gets knocked down, yet gets back up again. He is very confident. It should make for a great fight. I think Marquez is Manny’s best match.
The whole thing about Manny not facing a good black boxer and the different style was defused quickly with Mosley. Roll with the changes, but the Mayweather-Pacquaio match is no longer the panacea of boxing.
I like Marquez to give Manny the best run for the money. Even though he moves to the higher weight class, he still is a very intelligent boxer, and has done well against Manny.
